I like David Bowie!

this worked when I posted it

https://soundcloud.com/djzeu5/zeu5-solea-original-mixThis is a link to my favorite playlist. It's in Spanish(pop music), but it's really good, I promise!
And I use Qobuz, because it's good, it's not Spotify, and it's from France.
I don't stream music, unless you count youtube videos. I posted that SoundCloud link, but I listen to that DJs mixes on YouTube. Posted that link because he released that downloadable free track
I recognized only Jesse & Joy from your list. It wouldn't play. Region locked? or maybe it was my adblockers? or I need an account... anyway, I know one song from them, but it's one of my all time favorite songs.
I do know that song. I've seen Jesse & Joy in concert, and they were great. My favorite song from them is 3 A.M.:
I do have an older version of the playlist, from Spotify:
I really don't listen to this kind of music much, but like this:
I call this guy the latino Eminem
Been listening to this a lot after rediscovering it for the first time since I heard it on the school bus as an 8 year old in 1993, thanks to the Spotify algorithm, actually listened to the whole album, not bad
Oh my God! It has been forever since I've heard that song! Thank you!

snip music video
I feel like I know a different version of that song, but I'm not sure...

My pleasure! As of a couple of weeks ago it’d been forever since I heard it too!
Salsa music was created in New York City, late 60s to early 70s, combining Caribbean music with jazz elements.
These are covers of songs you may know
A couple years ago I got my grandparents record collection when they moved into assisted living and cleaned out their house.
I've been working my way through it. They had varied tastes.
I also got a pretty decent mixture of stereo equipment from them and a step-grandparent who was downsizing his setup.
I don't listen to much music at all lately, occasionally I'll relisten to something classic I've heard hundreds of times, get a slightly new experience from the current frame of mind, and perhaps I just do a lot of remembering of prior listening over the years. The reason for this type of behavior is that being a musician I'm constantly either playing music in my mind or practicing my instrument or writing music on a laptop, but more lately I've been having telling AI to write music that I send lyrics to and that has been fascinating from a listener perspective while feeling like you're part of the process of the creation. When I first started using AI songwriting tools I wondered if this is the future of music listening, an actual interactive experience where the music people will listen to music that will almost always be spontaneously created based on words they want to hear in specific genres they want created with specific performance cues to be enacted for new and unique listening experiences. Even if it takes 20 years for the world to catch up and think this way, the tools are already available for the songwriter mindset and that's very exciting.
Thanks to this show being carried on my local classical station I've really been diving into baroque music.
For example, Biber's Mystery Sonatas are an incredible journey, using a wide variety of scordatura to set many different moods.
Something oddball that my girlfriend introduced to me was Brazilian music. I ended up loving it while we were on our trip to Rio. Particularly I'm lately listening to a lot of:
Natirutz (Brazilian reggae band)
Tiago Iorc (Brazilian pop singer)

He's Puertorican and very political with his lyrics. Not the usual urban music artist in PR. Much older than Bad Bunny who has also been releasing culturally and politically charged songs.
Just saw these two in concert:
If it weren't right in the middle of the swim season (and if I weren't already stepping out for my 20th anniversary and to do stupid stuff with my dad), I'd be getting tickets to see Nuclear Power Trio in Denver:
I took the whole family out to see Alestorm when they came through, and it was a pretty good show up until my younger kid hopped in the circle pit, then it was fuckin' amazing.
Got tickets to see Sevendust coming up, haven't heard them since the early '00s.
We went and saw Primus/Puscifer/A Perfect Circle for both v1.0 (at Red Rocks) and v2.0 (here in Albuquerque) of Sessanta (Maynard James Keenan's 60/61st birthday). John Hoffman is a really great drummer, and he's revitalized Primus, it was like seeing them in 1996 again.
Saw Ghost up at the Ball Arena in Denver last fall, and it was absurdly fun.
Bathory and Immortal walking hand and hand in the woods:
Sean Lennon and Les Claypool giving some big "Have a Cigar" vibes:
These guys came to Albuquerque not long ago and they absolutely packed Sister Bar to the rafters, and brought the fucking house down:
Sounds like music that should come out of a '70s van with a LOTR mural on the side.

I really like Giulia Be. I think people will like this song even if they don’t understand the words:
Been listening to this a lot lately for whatever reason -
My favorite commute record has been the latest Body Count album, Merciless. That's Ice T's heavy metal band, the one with Comfortably Numb on it (my favorite music video of the 21st century, featuring David Gilmour):
not necessarily recently, but I've listened to this most of my life, and I'm listening to it now
The nostalgia is real
I love that song, and I follow them on youtube
Yeah, all their music is a lot of fun.
Quite possibly old news to many of you but today I swear I discovered the reincarnation of Janis Joplin - a band called "The Last Internationale"
Here's their youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLil_M ... Lgi3Wbh--w
Apparently they originated in NYC almost a decade ago. How come I never heard of them until today?
Ah well, I have now.
Delila Paz can really belt it out with feelin'!
BTW, this is the last song and music video I co-wrote and produced with my cousin Jesse Dalton. We both had seen during the pandemic how musicians were starting to produce recordings remotely on the internet and thought we'd give it a try. This is what we came up with:
