I just switched over to fiber optic internet, and my god. It's a revelation.

So this is what fast internet feels like. I'm not even getting the time to think before stuff loads.

I went from 250 Mbps down / 25 Mbps up on cable to 2 Gbps symmetrical fiber, and the difference is way more noticeable than I expected. Pages, streaming apps, downloads, everything just happens immediately. I’m not even getting the time to think before stuff loads. My MacBook Pro is getting around 1.2 Gbps down and 1.25 Gbps up over Wi-Fi. The router itself is seeing about 2.1/2.3 Gbps. And somehow I’m paying less for this than I was for the old connection. I was paying $96 per month with Liberty Cable for the 250 Mbps down/ 25 Mbps Up. With Optico Fiber, I'm paying $75.

I switched to fiber when I moved into my new house. I don't notice a significant speed difference (but I don't need a huge amount of speed anyway) but what I really want is the reliability. Spectrum cable was down all the damn time.
