...and also because Windows 11 is...some sort of absurdist art piece cosplaying as an OS.
So, where did everyone end up? I like LMDE / Debian , myself. ![]()

I like Debian for how to manage it, but I really don’t like the GUIs available for Linux distros. I want a universal menu bar at the top of the screen, and the best I’ve seen any Linux distro with that is OCCASIONALLY having the menu bar at the top of the screen for SOME apps, which I feel is actually worse than just leaving them within the windows themselves.
I've used Debian since 1997.

Debian and Proxmox, which is also Debian
Garuda Gnome for main gaming PC, as well as one my main Thinkpad, and SurfaceGo Gen1, Big Linux XFCE for my older thinkpad and older dual core i5 Macbook Air, COSMIC looks promising but I can't leave GNOME Extensions behind for my main machines yet.

I think things have gotten better in recent years. I understand they're not perfect (or even great, really), but there is pressure to get better from what I've seen.

I run NetBSD for my UNIX-needs. But my daily computing is macOS. Well; iPadOS, more often than not. I think my iPad M4 Pro may be the most powerful computer in our household.
I run Fedora Workstation (MATE desktop) as my main install, and Linux From Scratch for playing around.
I'm on Fedora 42.
Where about in New Mexico?
Rosewell today and then Artesia. Going to a old family grave.

I run Ubuntu. It works, its reliable, and does everything I need without getting in the way.

I'm running Ubuntu on my old iMac, and Ubuntu Server on my Plex/Home server.
I have an Intel NUC I use as a server running Ubuntu, and both a gaming PC and an Asus Ally running Bazzite. Though I intend to sell the gaming PC.

My little backup PC is running Nobaru with the KDE desktop, but my primary computer is running Win-11 Pro for my gaming needs
Still just using Ubuntu LTS. CLI only, no GUI.
I should probably switch to something that sends fewer "metrics" back to the publisher. Oh well.
