Just wondering; is anyone else running a Plex server, or similar sort of self hosted media server?
I’m running a Plex server for TV, movies, and music. It’s running on an 8th gen intel small form factor PC, running Ubuntu Server.

Does it just have various video files and music files, or does it connect to other services?
Out of the box, it just hosts whatever media files you put on its but you can run additional services that assist you in acquiring media.
I’ve got mine hosting tv shows, moves, and music, and I manually manage the media acquisition and management myself.
I had a Plex server for years but they just kept cluttering it up with stuff I did not want and switched to Stremio. I still have my old Plex library and thinking of moving it over to Jellyfin. Plex did have a excellent music app for mobile.
Sent from one Linux box or another...
I get a lot of requests from people to add Plex support to Tuneshine, which I'll be doing at some point soon via a Plex plugin (if everything works how I expect it to work).
The other media servers I hear about often are Roon and Lyrion, but they seem to be music only.
I have gotten SUPER into Plex over the last few years. My parents and sister use it as well; mine is currently running off my old gaming PC (Circa 2019).
