Nice.
I‘m staying the hell away from model cars. That‘d get out of hand right quick.
yeah, I've got a bit of a problem with model cars.
I've got a few Gunpla, they're way more beginner friendly than cars. They snap together and have 6 or more colors so they look great without paint or even the decals. Whereas snap together cars look like crap without decent paint.
Now that I’m out of hospital and I’ve got a bit of time up my sleeve, I’ve finally started to dismantle the parts MX-6 I bought back in February. Upon further investigation, the poor thing is full of rust. But it still has plenty of parts that will come in handy to keep my MX-6 on the road, along with the all important manual conversion bits (my MX-6 is an auto). Pretty much everything electronic/electrical on it seems to work at least, haven’t gotten it started yet though as it has an aftermarket security system that seems to be cutting off the fuel pump, so I’ll have to figure out how to Hotwire it. Turns out it was for the best that I paid through the nose for that Mazda wiring diagram book a while back.
Also I’m taking a bit of time off work which will largely be spent playing around with MX-6s, idea is that I want my MX-6 to be ready within the next month for me to apply for classic rego. Then I’ll be up to having 3 out of 5 cars in the fleet on the road which will be pretty cool (up from 1 this time last year)

First image I'm looking at it like "Holy shit, is that flesh and blood I'm seeing floating above the right front tire?" Then I looked beneath that and saw blood. Then I took note of what part of the car folded over. I immediately thought to myself "yup, that's a quick way to become a double amputee".
And then I saw the other image... yeah, I'm glad I didn't go into motorsports.

I just looked up Zanardi's bio. Damn, dude lost his legs, kept racing, and then started competing in paracycling. It was cycling which dealt the fatal blow. It's like he self-preservation and caution never influenced his decision making.

The '15 GTI we own has been relatively trouble free. It did the usual VW things first though: leaky water pump union at the oil cooler, and busted intake flappy flaps.
Once you've removed the intake manifold once, it's not that intimidating.
Your powers are useless! I'm wearing my tinfoil underwear!
I got the parts MX-6 started today and got it moving under its own power (I had to turn it the other way around for easier dismantling) Haven't driven a manual in 15 years. I picked it back up eventually. Just like riding a bike (funnily enough, I haven't ridden a bike in about that long either lmao)
