Is there an EASY way to reset Safari to "factory condition".

There used to be a 'reset' option in the Safari menu, but it isn't there anymore, or I couldn't find it anywhere. I manually deleted all I could, history, bookmarks, plugins, extensions, cookies...

there should be a better way

And when I reopen it, there are a lot of bookmarks already there?

Thank you Apple, so helpful

I wanted to give Safari a chance again, and slowly configure it to my taste. Bad start :worriedfrown:

Maybe later

I wanted to click one thing and delete all bookmarks, all extensions, all cookies, and all history, all at once.

I had a RAM panic in the early days...
this fairly modded 09 has not had one since.
I use Safari as primary.

Even reset there will still be the bookmarks Apple installs by default.

Actaully, now that I think about it I have reset Firefox and that did delete my history but left my bookmarks untouched. I wouldn't want my bookmarks deleted. My collection has been carefully curated for a good 15 years now.
I'd be heartbroken if I lost them.
drag bookmarks into a folder and save it on a backup drive.

command option b will bring you to bookmarks where you can select them all and delete
command option e to empty caches
clear history
from the privacy preferences you can delete cookies and the like
and maybe you edit the autofill stuff (preferences, autofill)

that should get you most of the way back to default

A Safari that has been reset still has bookmarks. They are just ones that Apple has provided.

I sign into Chrome, and it syncs my bookmarks across all browsers I sign into.

Well, I still have to manually remove them, bing? facebook?

Oh, I agree that having a bunch of bookmarks you don't want is wasteful, but that is what reset *is* for Safari.
Check to see if you are syncing that human waste to iCloud.
