So because VirtualBox is the only approved method of virtualization at my current workplace(because the CISO understands UX about as well as he understands interpersonal communication), and because its interface was obviously designed by someone with all of the user interface development understanding and motivation of Helen Keller on oxycodone, I'm having some difficulty doing a task which takes approximately half a second on either VMWare or Parallels: creating a simple virtual machine running macOS on a macOS host machine.

I want one running Mojave.

If I could also have one running Catalina, that would be amazing.

Might anyone here be able to provide some assistance in pointing me in the right direction?

And if someone could offer the CISO a job at a Linux-only porn company like the one where he (literally) came from, so he could go back to masturbating about his fetish for watching other people be frustrated at their inability to accomplish anything useful, or if someone could get him some social skills training, I would really appreciate you helping him with that, too. It wouldn't take much. I am assuming Rain Man would be an available and inexpensive tutor for him. Definitely available. Definitely.

I gotta agree, that is some pure comedy gold right there.

Sadly, I can't help you with VirtualBox. I'm still trying to figure it out myself.

I "graduated" to KVM years ago. Sorry. I mean, I remember the basics - where the "new VM" button is, how to go through that wizard, but I'd assume you do too and there's some magic specifically related to running MacOS in the VM.

I'd have bet my house that either obvs or dv would know this inside out.

I don't know what to believe anymore. ;)

Nope. VM software baffles me and I could never get it to work right so I setup a dual boot for Windows.

And, after all that work and frustration I got a great working dual boot setup going only to find out I really have no particular need for Windows. About once a month I fire win7 up to play with Photoshop.

So, no help here, sorry.
I just google then follow a guide.

I's sure there's something that does a passthrough so macOS knows it's running in macOS, but

I would imagine virtualizing MacOS involves Clover, as that is how you get it running on bare-metal non-Mac hardware.

I think that would only be on Windows systems.

This is on a macOS host.
