I think I remember seeing such a thread on MacLife forums but I haven't found one here. The idea is that we share what our current desktop looks like and share the images.

On my current Macbook Pro (which has been fixed) I have the following three:

Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 3.42.20 PM.jpg

Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 3.42.30 PM.jpg

Screen Shot 2017-09-12 at 3.42.38 PM.jpg

I had to compress these images quite a bit.

Hey, that's MY screen!

Usually have a space shot but accidentally switched to blue and liked it.

I have had a solid black desktop background for just over 20 years now. Once in awhile I try a picture but that never lasts.

Amusing but the reality is that if you want lots and lots of crazy desktop effects Linux offers more than any other OS.
I choose to not use any of them.

Mint comes with a really fantastic trove of desktop pictures, many really quite beautiful.
But I don't use any of them. :)

A picture changes on the first monitor, one minute later it changes on the second monitor, then one more minute and it changes on the third monitor, repeat.

I used to change my desktop picture with some frequency back in the day, but I've had the same one since 2010 now.

Current desktop: Small (3.3 MB) or in true 1:1 Bigness (29.5 MB)

I remember thinking how great that photo was when I first got it as it's huge and I'll never want for a desktop picture again.

The original source was only 4672 x 1890 so not wide enough for dual 2560 x 1440 monitors. :goth:

Everything to the right of her fingers is stuff I added on (I actually didn't realize I duplicated a finger you can barely see below it… have never bothered to remove it) to get it wide enough.

I should stop using those, and I mean those pictures on my desktop. It's just masochism.

Here's my wallpaper library. I was using Wallpaper Engine for a while but it's been glitchy so back to static ones on slideshow.

I don't have any pics, but on my iMac, i have Sam And Dean Winchester. On the MBP, i keep changing the abstracts that came with it.
Bright saturated colours and high detail pictures on my desktop are distracting. I have gone from an all grey screen to an all black screen. My shop only has D50 colour correct tubes providing illumination and they show a slight flaw of my monitor's colour. So instead of replacing it, I just set it to black. Good enough.

I go back and forth. I will set a picture for awhile but I will eventually go back to my very dark gray to black gradient background. Before that I used just black but I find the gradient pleasing while not distracting.
A very busy little computer with a sparse desktop that has probably never been changed in almost 20 years.

This is one of the two I have on my mac, but the other one is not worth posting in my opinion.
