Yahoo Answers, one of the longest-running and most storied web Q&A platforms in the history of the internet, is shutting down on May 4th. That’s the day the Yahoo Answers website will start redirecting to the Yahoo homepage, and all of the platform’s archives will apparently cease to exist. The platform has been operating since 2005.

So how will people will know if they're preganant?

Every-time I see Yahoo pop up in the news I am always a bit surprised they still exist at all. They are a name I associate with the late 90s, along with things like geocities, angelfire and altavista.

Angelfire

There’s a name I haven’t heard in a very long time

The only time I have interacted with anything Yahoo related was three years ago after a clean install and I needed to change my default search engine away from Yahoo.

Yahoo became AT&T's email, that's the only reason I have any contact with it.

One of my favorite podcast use Yahoo Answers for their show (MBMBaM) I wonder if there is another avenue for this kind of site.

Yahoo is still big in Japan and Taiwan. Not for search, but for other things.

Isn't the weather app on the iPhone powered by Yahoo?
Don't they have something to do with USA Today?

So, I thought "Is Excite.com still around?"
Typed it in and got a big security alert:
"Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead
Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to excite.com. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details."

So, I guess not, huh?

Excite is still up. I have one of my email accounts there. It's my spam trap.

If you are going to sign up for quora be sure to use a spam trap email because they will send you 20+ emails a day and will not stop even if you close your account.
