Chick-fil-A on sunday

“Sunday Service” lets buyers sign up to order a Chick-fil-A sandwich (priced, of course, at $6.66) that’s delivered during the one day a week that Christ has deemed unacceptable for sandwich-related commerce. That’s pretty much the whole idea.

The website cites Colossians 2:16 (“Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to the Sabbath”) and includes a manifesto which states that “certain American values go hand in hand. For example, conservative Christianity pairs perfectly with a correspondingly devout faith in the ‘free market.’”

“That being the case,” it continues, “fiddlesticks it, let’s take advantage of the obvious hole in the market left by notoriously Christian restaurant chain Chik-fil-A’s [sic] sabbatarianism.”

Can’t remember when I ate that last.

yeah, people are saying that

but like the joker said, it's about sending a message

and it's a big fiddlesticks you message

I like that

but how many people are actually going to buy day old chicken sandwiches? a few maybe, just for participating in this novelty publicity stunt, but this chikfilety thing won't make a lot of money from it, I doubt that, in fact I'm sure the cease and desist is already been sent by their lawyers.

They're tasty, but they're funding hate, so I don't go there. There's a local place called "Ensemble" which has delicious chicken sandwiches with pickles and delicious fries, and I go there instead.

I ate there once, just to see what all the fuss was about.

Ok, but overrated. That combined with their politics means I don't need to ever go again.

The chicken is actually fairly good for "fast food", but I think a lot of their business is driven by Christians wanting to eat "God's own chicken".

There's chicken that is not created by god?

Do they use god's own recipe?

Or is god actually the fry cook?

And God only gets one day off? I bet they pay him minimum wage.

You mean "chikin".
Because their god hates proper spelling almost as much as he hates people buying food on Sunday.
And it's Sunday because he cannot make up his mind about which day is the sabbath...
or whether it is ok to eat animals with cloven hooves that don't chew their cud...

And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him.

I like that CF is closed one day a week. That makes them the only fast food joint in the country that lets their workers experience a reliable and consistent day off every week. Nobody and I mean nobody else does that.

That being said, when I want Chicken CF is down the list after Church's, Popeye's and Bo Jangles but before KFC. CF has way too much sugar in everything for me. Every single item I have ever tasted from them would benefit from having at least 50% less sugar.
KFC has just gone to human waste so bad that I will go hungry before I will spend my money there.

Not even duct tape will fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

I am surprised that [someone who has advocated violence in the name of protecting the weak from the wicked] would ever patronize an organization that's blatantly donating to hate groups.

I haven't had Chick-fil-a since the pandemic started, and then only because they used to sell sandwiches at lunchtime in the lobby of our building from some hot bags. It's hard to turn down a $5 hot chicken sandwich combo when you've just gotten out of a too-long safety meeting and it's lunch time.

Otherwise, I haven't set foot in one in years.
