Why Goodreads is bad for books

I've been a Goodreads member for many years, but I've never been particularly active on the platform, due to the many issues described in this article.

I've been trying to read more novels again and read in bursts, but never manage to hold steady for a variety of reasons: one of which is I'm a little spoilt and have too little time. Put differently - I only want to read stuff I love, and wish like hell that I had a better way of sorting past the stuff I don't connect with.

Anyway, I'm going to check out thestorygraph.com and hope it's what I've been wishing for. Join me in supporting an alternative?

Okeh, it said it might, but it didn't take 24 hours. I've already got my first list of recommendations based on the survey I filled out and the handful of books I told it I've read. I don't remember ever being this excited about a recommendations list. I have lots of hope for this platform!
