Being too young for the Dick Van Dyke Show, my first exposure to his comedy was the 2000 Year Old Man with Mel Brooks.

I used to watch the Dick Van Dyke Show on Nick at Nite when I was like ten years old. This was a little more than 25 years ago.

Oh I saw the Dick Van Dyke Show as it aired. Classic.

“The Russians Are Coming! the Russians Are Coming!” - also classic.

He was a young man when a friend clued him in on this free ‘actor’s workshop’ class. It was part of Roosevelt’s program, so folks on twitter are saying The New Deal gave us Carl Reiner.

One of the last (if not THE last) photos of him has him and Mel Brooks both stretched out on La-Z-Boys wearing matching ‘Black Lives Matter’ t-shirts.
