Nope. Up until the 1950's there simply were NO machines that functioned as computers as we currently know them. The first commercial computers were bought by the US government for the military and NASA in the early 1960's before the first US manned space launches.

Indeed, Johnson and the other women working for NACA or the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics themselves were called computers.

NACA was renamed NASA in 1958.
She waited until she was 101 to die. Everyone wants to go in their prime.
If anything that checking was the other way around. In the 2016 movie Hidden Figures there is a scene from history that was recreated in that movie:
