I suspect that the power steering pump in my 2005 Mazda 3 2.3ltr is going out. It is an electric pump.
The price range I see for this part makes no sense to me. On Amazon I am seeing prices starting at $50 all the way up to $600.
Anyone have any idea what the deal is with that?

Amazon search sucks for car parts. Partial matching is as good as no match. If I do a search for "2005 mazda 3 power steering pump" I see a $50 coolant reservoir...?

With the vehicle filter configured for the Mazda 2.3L, I only see compatible two pumps on Amazon - a ~$600 re-manufactured pump, and a ~$300 re-manufactured pump. This is consistent with what RockAuto is offering. Autozone prices are slightly higher.

If you are willing to hit up scrapyards, you can do a search on car-part.com. Looks like there are a few in your are for around $100 (if you still live in Rockford.)
