I know, I know.
It's Jane Goodall. She and the chimp know each other. Chimps can feel affection for humans they know, and they are saying goodby. but ...
THOSE THINGS CAN KILL YOU WITH ONE HAND!

That's what I was gonna' say! (well, I was actually going to say that I could).
Remember, people, to forgive is divine. In other words, it ain't human.
Chimps can use weapons, and also have big sharp canines

They can also get friends to help
Just like humans

People that do not succeed in politics usually tell the truth too often.

meanwhile, nasa has begun applying for grants in a desperate bid for funding
trump had just boasted about boosting their budget (so they can get back to the moon "IN A BIG WAY") but it was really just them applying for a pell grant worth $1.6 billion

And now I'll never unsee it. Thanks.
But a blunt shouldn't be associated with a destroyer of worlds.

Meh, semantics. Shiva destroys the old to create something new. Some translations specify "destroyer of evil".
Star Trek's planet killer basically just eats the planets, as fuel, so it can reach other planets to eat.

This is true, but very specifically, at the end of each final Manvantara, Shiva destroys the entire universe, so the next one can be created.

Pulling apart duct tape causes chemical bonds to break which indirectly gives rise to a faint blue glow in an effect called triboluminescence
Here's the video

I'm torn. It's hard to believe, but I want to try it, but I don't want to waste duct tape, not even just a little...

If that excites you...
I see that effect in the darkroom when I remove the tape that holds the film to the spool.
It can expose a few mm of film on the edge but that film gets cut off after development anyway.

weird ... that's exactly the plot of total recall

Not quite - TR's giant ice berg created a breathable atmosphere, not ridiculously deep ocean. Of course, Total Recall was a 2.5 hour ad for a product that doesn't even exist yet, so there is that.
Hang on, that bit about "it would submerge the entire planet" is misleading.
First, the author clarified this later in that article:
As noted in the press release, if melted and brought to the surface, “the newly discovered polar ice would be equivalent to a global layer of water around Mars at least 1.5 meters (5 feet) deep.” That’s a lot of water.
That IS a lot of water, but that is only an average depth of about 5 feet across the entire surface of Mars.
Second, the surface of Mars is considerably uneven in height from its center with much of its northern hemisphere in a considerable depression such that now artists depict the planet at some time in the past looking like this:

This could help explain why that northern reservoir of water exists at all. While Mars was losing its atmosphere the only area which retained enough atmosphere to allow liquid water was in that northern depression with its higher atmospheric pressure. Perhaps the drop in temperature due to less atmosphere eventually caused that northern pool to freeze solid.
Damn, and here I was hoping we could eventually turn Mars into Phloston Paradise...

It works. And the tape gets a little warm.
