You clearly have not experienced a well-made Marzipan confection.
I have yet to experience a candy corn which didn't taste like slightly sweetened crayons either, I'm not confident either one exists.
Candy corn was not originally conceived as a high quality confection. There's a difference. ;)

And somehow this seems appropriate.

Marshmallow wasn't either but I hold both in contempt of being weird. Marzipan is just an odd thing to like.

Also, nobody gets to sing that song but TMBG and I don't care if The Four Lads did it first.

You make it sound like a bad thing.
Kirk tried to make marzipan sound like a good thing, you're both wrong.
Silly rabbit
Marzipan is for humans
Recent candy purchases (meaning candy I have bought over the course of the last month or so, not candy I just finished eating) include:

Wild Berry, Riddles, Blenders, and Tropical Skittles
Good n Plenty
Sweetarts
Hershey's Nuggets (reg, and almond toffee)
Butterfinger bar
Reese's Pieces
Reese's PB cups
Peppermint Patties
Jolly Ranchers

Good n Plenty is *right* on the edge of being too chewy/sticky for me. Love them, but always fear some piece of dental work is gonna come loose. Then again, that added bit of danger makes them all the more enjoyable.

Can't forget the white chocolate M&Ms that are candy coated to look like candy corn. Well, there's white, orange and yellow. Not all 3 colors on each. That would be better. I love white chocolate.

I'm wondering how you know what crayons taste like? ;)

Candy marzipan is revolting, but the stuff in pastries is pretty good. Any candy that doesn't involve chocolate is a waste of time and money (on dental work), except when I'm trying to numb the horrors of being at work, in which case I'll even eat those nasty pink Easter jelly beans.

White chocolate is to chocolate as Velveeta is to cheese.
Metacell, try the Marzipan made with less sugar and a dark chocolate coating. The revolting stuff with too much sugar is usually shaped to look like pieces of fruit.

Not quote right but not too far off

Sugar content aside...
Dark chocolate = Cocoa fats plus with cocoa solids incorporated
Milk chocolate = Cocoa fats with cocoa and milk solids incorporated
White chocolate = Cocoa fats with milk solids incorporated

Cheese = Fermented milk curds
Velveeta = Cheese with milk and whey incorporated
Ricotta cheese = Fermented milk whey
