It's not people who fiddlesticks this thread up but one person, arkayn. The content isn't the issue but how it's handled, that's why we have this thread as protest, uncouth individual.

uncouth individual for emphasis.

I know. I've seen the trailer. The character, "human waste Zombie" seems to be the most wholesome part of the entire experience.

If you're going fast enough and the bike has a bash plate you can go a short distance on water before you sink. Buddy in the gif I posted went about as far as possible and even over that short distance he needed a sheet of plywood on the exit side of the pool to get the wheels up and over the lip. You should see the snowmobile races they used to run on Lake Simcoe each summer - those guys would go for miles, as long as they kept the throttle open.

Of course. . .

I don't know how the YouTube version of this animated GIF is supposed to convince me. I still think it's faked. I have personally seen snowmobiles cross water, but they have a much larger surface area. The second this bike hits the water the guy should be going ass over tea kettle into the water. A splash plate on the engine isn't going to stop his front wheel from digging in. No, sir, I call shenanigans.

Yep, snowmobiles are pretty easy to keep afloat as they are designed for it. But I've seen guys on dirt bikes ride into water. Like I say, if you're going fast enough you will slide across the surface for a short distance but you need a light bike. You also need to shift weight off the front wheel by sliding as far back on the seat as possible, like the guy in the video. Luck also plays a part from what I've seen and the guy in the video had a good measure of that. I'm sure it took several tries to get it right for the video and I imagine he bike sunk a few times before he got it right.

Or the whole thing may have been faked. The video/gif is so short and of such low resolution we cannot really tell what sort of shenanigans may have been used. But it is consistent with what I've seen in real life. I never saw anyone make it that far but the few guys I have seen ride their bikes into deep water were not trying a stunt like that, they just rode in either by accident or because they were goofing around. Even so a couple of them went 10-15 feet before they sunk. Whatever, as hot and sticky as it has been here for the last week I would gladly ride a dirt bike into a swimming pool right about now and I'd be just as happy if it did sink.

That is true, I saw it.

The man is Travis Pastrana, the show is Nitro Circus. Look it up.

You gotta think it through - the chicks in the kitty-cat make-up are usually the ones who like pillow fights.
