That sounds like some heroic action-movie human waste right there!
 :awe:

Nah, it just meant that we stalled in the tunnel while the engine ate itself while spitting out lots of oil/exhaust. Loud and dirty mixed with cant see and slimy.

Interesting.
I've used SCBA, but it was a compressed air / positive pressure system. I guess a small leak around the edges doesn't matter so much with a system like that.

They still make you get fit tested for those, and yeah, it doesn't make much sense to anyone.

Well, I think it make more sense in a military application, where it may be a defense against Chemical/biological warfare.
It doesn't matter so much in standard firefighter equipment where a lot of things are one-size-fits-all.

I did have to train on wearing an N-95 filter when TB started making a comeback. We were tested with an aerosol to see if we could taste it. If you could, you were doin' it wrong.

I think the rational with that one probably runs along the lines of maximizing the time you can spend fighting a fire with one tank. Let me tell you, it doesn't last all that long!

So, is it just a filter, or does it have an air supply tank?

They are passive filters.

Why do you think being clean shaven is a benefit in a CBR environment?

The fit around your face must be hermetical to keep out the bad vapors.

Thankfully we swap personnel with a good safety margin on the tanks.
Hermetic not hermetical. Though even that term is not truly accurate for anything dealing with organic compounds like a rubber face mask. Still its good enough when times are only measured in minutes or hours.

Naturally. Even if air wasn't an issue, it's exhausting to fight fires. Do Navy ships have the equipment to recharge bottles at sea?
Navy men only know how to empty bottles.

If it was an USB port, that would make the camera very small. Must be something else.

That's way too wide for it's height to be USB. It's probably some proprietary connector.
So, somebody trying to run a business making signs. That is all well and good:

But then, in the vacant lot right next to the right next to the Chiropractic:

That's gotta be annoying.
