I saw some similar images on the news last night. Denials all around but it looks (and apparently smells) like an airplane may have dumped its sewage on approach to Pearson Airport.

Airplanes don't do that - Mythbusters. There's no "dump sewage button" inside planes, and at least 3 things must fail for the waste to get accidentally dumped.
And in any case: the article linked from that picture explains what happened: a guy was hauling some buckets of paint in that minivan when he crashed.
Isn't he talking about something similar he saw on the news, not that picture.
If a boat is a hole in the water you throw money in, do you really want your ship to come in?

I'm not sure how having a mess on the inside of a minivan can be called similar to a plane dumping its sewage in flight.

That was my immediate reaction upon seeing that photo.

Interesting.
I've used SCBA, but it was a compressed air / positive pressure system. I guess a small leak around the edges doesn't matter so much with a system like that.

So, is it just a filter, or does it have an air supply tank?

That sounds like some heroic action-movie human waste right there!

They still make you get fit tested for those, and yeah, it doesn't make much sense to anyone.

This post is not racist.
