On a related note, about a month ago while riding down the escalator, my 6-year old daughter spied a shiny penny in the corner of the step and stooped down to pick it up.

And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him.

Its always fun to do that. She's good at slinging arrows quickly and mostly accurately.

I'm thinking that's more based on the Disney movie who's title I can't remember, where the protagonist is a redhead, rather than Hunger Games.

Whale breaching off Redono Beach today. This is part of their semi-annual migration. The 'mountains' behind the whale in this picture is likely one of the Channel Islands, perhaps Santa Catalina Island.
