Super double-high-resolution graphics images!

ah, good old broderbund, they had some incredible games back in the 80s

looks like they still exist in some form

They made Choplifter, Karateka, Spelunker, and Lode Runner...one of the first that let you make and save your own levels. My favorite was The Castles of Dr. Creep.

Also: Myst

I had the Amiga version of Prince of Persia II and it was really cool.

It's a shame Apple never took A/UX seriously. The 68030 was the first processor really capable of pulling that off well.

That people still produce, buy, and drive these abominations is why we deserve to die as a civilization.

I am suspicious of this picture. No one was using .png files at that time.

a local mum has one of those ... four kids, absolutely lovely lady, kind and friendly, her youngest was best friends with my daughter

but then covid hit and she became an extreme-right conspiracy-theory-spitting nutbag, alienating pretty much everybody

You may not be wrong, the source of that image said early 90s

In October 1996, the first version of the PNG specification was issued as a W3C recommendation. Additional versions were released in 1998, 1999 and 2003, when it became an international standard.

BUT, OS 9 lasted until 2001, so it may have been updated to support png?
