LOL.

A couple summers ago a gull yanked a sandwich right out of my wife's hand (bit her finger too), no more than a second after she pulled the sandwich out of the bag.
It was as if the gull knew she was going to pull out some food.

I'm pretty sure that's a CT, instead of an MRI. (link to source?)
THe X-Ray tube is the round bit at about 11:00, the piece spanning 4:00, 5:00, and 6:00 with all the fans is the detector.
That all spins, really quickly. Fascinating to watch.

the source didn't have any further info or links, it was just one of many "cool pics" repositories on the internet

But I believe you, CT instead of MRI.

Cool video. Amazing piece of tech, I mean, one loose piece could wreak real havoc. Those engineers and builders did a good job.

There is a sign on the wall that says "CT PROCEDURE", so yeah... Also, yes, that is some amazingly cool technology. That whole assembly must way hundreds of pounds, yet spins at a pretty good clip around very soft, squishy humans every day.

Mind you: each of these languages is given a summary with more information such as there are MORE Hmong speakers in MN than in WI, but that language is not as common as Somali in MN.

It's not even USB. Those are DB25 parallel connectors on the right side, or maybe SCSI 1.
I bet driver support sucks.
Why would anyone even use something that old?

Because it cost several million when new and it still works?

One of the machines at my old job has a connector that can only accept a punch card reader. Still works fine and would be costly to replace when we can just use a adaptor.

DB connectors are screwed together.
USB is not.
while 200rpm doesn't sound like much, the centrifugal force prolly won't doUSB any good.

You can get hardened USB interfaces, but yes, standard "friction-fit" USB isn't going to work well in those environments.

true... but.

plates and tubes have been around for a long time.
old habits of using the old connectors are there.
also, it hasn't been a load of years that they put ethernet connections in them.
considering it's a literal run it till it's either too broke to fix or regulations take it out of serve industry.
