Hard to say from that, really. Linux window managers have looked like that for a while now, though it's possible they copied MacOS back in the day.

Fortunately, there are themes that get rid of the cartoonishness entirely.

That should be in the “what is this” thread
At Disneyland the Sword in the Stone looked like this for a short time during this past week:

It was later revealed that a "pretty buff dude" had pulled out the old sword (which had rusted and left jagged bits inside the display).

No, he did not get ANYTHING for pulling out Excalibur.

The new Excalibur and (refurbished?) anvil:

We also had a Stylewriter 1200:

And honestly, it was a hella-solid machine. You could still buy those cartridges as of like 2010 or so, too. And they were cheap.

My dad has one of those. As of the last time I visited he was still using it for the occasional print and hadn't replaced the cartridge in years. It seems like it has a self cleaning function that keeps the nozzles from drying out.

I love pics like that. It's over 100 years old! to me that's a form of time travel.

And other than all the purple, it looks very natural.

If you look hard enough in the middle distance, you can just barely make out Fanucci trying to shake down Salvatore and Vito.

As an aside, Canon made the print engine for the StyleWriter 1200, and there was a DOS/Windows variant of it that used the same cartridges. They were beasts of a printer, though monochrome only. I had one for years before I finally dumped it.

Yeah, the Canon BC-02 cartridges - we never used the Apple cartridges because the Canon branded ones were cheaper.

Having a similar StyleWriter II, I liked how little space it took up and aesthetically svelte it was.

In other news, Japan is building another life size 18m tall Gundam, but this one is going to walk.
