Allegedly there is some company out there which makes these decals for cars and trucks awaiting dent repairs:

I think "awaiting" is a rather optimistic read on it. If they're going to spend money to put a sticker like that on it, I sincerely doubt they have any actual intention of ever repairing the body damage in question.

Which is totally fine, their call. But yeah.

Yeah, with the amount of rust on that body, I'd say the sticker was the fix.

There were comics in the '70s. We do not speak of them.

Those were the days... when you had to type code by hand to enjoy your free software, and hope you didn't make a single mistake when typing it. 52 pages book? so maybe around 5 games.

oh christ, i remember all those lines of code in the backs of those magazines

once i tried one, a game of some kind, endless freaking lines of machine code

it didn't work, and i was all like, "where the hell did i go wrong?" and was not motivated to check it

now that i think of it, maybe it's why i can't stand coding to this day

Isn’t that a sugar beet?
Yeah, probably a sugar beet but that picture is kinda weird:

I would have selected the red variant myself as what most people think of as a beet, but apparently the white variant is more commonly grown for sugar.

I thought it was a beet. I just call them beets (in spanish: remolacha)

I know you can get sugar from them, but I'll never think of "sweet" when I see beets.

This is probably similar to the difference between sweet corn and field corn. One is for human consumption, the other is for processing into animal feed, syrup, ethanol, etc.

Beets are for eating by old people and mostly found on salad bars. Sugar beets are for processing into sugar and other products.

Oh, I knew about the different kinds of corn, but not about the beets.

Screw you, man. Beets are delicious.

And I'm not old. My optometrist says I probably don't need bifocals yet.

Yep. My father in law, who tend to repeat stories will discuss his college term paper where he discussed the fact that (at least in his day) virtually all sugar west of the Mississippi was derived from sugar beets and the east of the river was via sugar cane.

I suspect there is a 75% chance he will regale us with this story on Thursday evening.
(At least that will keep him from discussing his hero, Trump.)
