My dad once had a lamp that was intended to be used for lighting when filming 8-mm home movies.
Probably made in the late '50s. It had four flood bulbs, can't remember what the wattage for each was but they would get insanely hot. I could bring sunlight to the entire back yard. I used to love using it when other neighborhood kids would cut through our woods.
Just looked it up. Four 375 watt flood lights

And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him.
People vastly underestimate how much energy is involved in stage lighting - until they have to be on a stage. It has gotten better with the advent of LED lighting, since most of the light from the older cans was infrared, but even modern LED lighting can get a stage nice and toasty.
