What do you mean?

I had Pole Position on the atari 2600, that's what that is in the screenshot. If the game came out in 82, you could still be playing it in 83.

They could have use Night Driver

To see the image, do one of two things:

1) if you can put such images on a phone or tablet, do something with that screen such as shake the screen back and forth, or just move the screen left and right or close then far, any screen movement, or

2) on a standard computer monitor do the equivalent with your head by shaking it or moving it relative to screen side to side or close then far.

If you were like me and saw the image immediately (because I am using my iPhone), then look around the center while trying to keep the screen still relative to your head.

Curious, the cat is immediately obvious to me. Maybe because I don't have binocular vision?

Atari 2600 (1977) had much weaker graphics capabilities than, say, the C64 (1982) or NES (1983 as Famicom in Japan).

Although those capabilities weren't realized until the late '80s because most of the early C64 software was fast Atari ports.

10 years ago I would have immediately said mirror. Today I thought: most likely a mirror, but... maybe an iPad? Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see anybody use a selfie camera as a mirror.

wut? paid? wasn't that freeware? or abandonware?

Wait... you may need to use a classic mac os emulator, but I think I got that game for free, and I'm sure it was the legal kind of free.

iirc it's available for PPC Mac OS X. It's been ported to X64 and iOS though, and you have to pay for the ports. The original developer got the rights back from the publishing company after it floundered and he gave it away for free and provided activation codes. there's a mac OS 9 and a mac OS X version. The Mac OS 9 version also has a Windows version, but I don't think it works on anything above Windows XP
