According to the creator, he picked the name from a phonebook. (a New York phone book)
And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him.

Sorry, but it's Toronto wrote: When, in the ’30s, it came time for him to draw the skyline and landmarks of Metropolis, Shuster dismissed Cleveland from his mind and turned instead to memories of Toronto.

“Cleveland was not nearly as metropolitan as Toronto was, and it was not as big or as beautiful. Whatever buildings I saw in Toronto remained in my mind and came out in the form of Metropolis.

And he worked for the Toronto Star, which used to be 'The Toronto Daily Star' was the basis for 'The Daily Star', which became 'The Daily Planet' wrote: So, Shuster gave the name “The Daily Star” to the Metropolis newspaper that employed Superman’s alter-ego, mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent.

Not until 1940, on orders from a New York editor, did Shuster and his partner, writer Jerry Siegel rename the paper the Daily Planet.

Even more from "Eddie's Father" IMDB:
In real-life, Bill Bixby became a surrogate father to Brandon Cruz, who came from a broken home, and Bixby took him in.

And Brandon Cruz played the jerky pitcher from the other team in Bad News Bears whose abusive dad was played by Vic Morrow who got decapitated by a helicopter.

Also a one time member of the Dead Kennedys.
And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him.

And on the list of things I'll probably never do, is finding something that looks like that, and use it as the case for a modern PC.

“Gold guy in star wars”, well google, you’re not totally wrong, he’s there.

-

I did a reverse image search to find a bigger copy of that image, and google identified it as such. It's impressive, but I don't think google will make a star wars protocol droid level AI any time soon.

I guess they use the search term most people use, but I don't want to believe that.

Incredibly, if you GIS for "droid", C3PO and R2D2 aren't anywhere on the first few pages.

I do get a lot of star wars droids, including R2D2 and BB8, but it took some scrolling to find a couple C3POs, and one was just a toy.

I didn't know about that car, but GM had been doing less "intense" digital display "stuff" to Cadillacs around that time. I'm not sure when the first ones to have a fuel range calculator was, but it would have been around then.

That steering system, though. I'm glad we stuck to wheels and put the controls in the center.

More pictures of said car.
