American SUV kills german SUV? that has to be Trump propaganda. ;)

Still, makes me not want a VW SUV, at least not that model, whatever it is. (not that I'm inclined to buy a fiat owned jeep)

Was going to call that page fake because why would they be advertising with Marvel Heroes and giving out DC Comics awards? The one obvs posted looks more legit.

The one I posted is also a link to a page giving an explanation. The ads were in DC and Marvel comic books, respectively, but with the heroes of each particular company.

Gotham is a nickname for NYC*, and has been since before Batman.
If you read the text it mentions where you will be going.

* Courtesy of Washington Irving who also gave rise to the term "Knickerbocker" for a New Yorker, he also created the Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Rip Van Winkle.

And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him.

Yeah, I thought that was why they used the name "Gotham" in Batman.

Yeah, as a general reference to NYC? While the most recent DC movie universe apparently has Gotham as a larger version of Newark and Metropolis as NYC, classically--i.e., over 2 or more decades ago--Gotham was NYC while Metropolis was "any" big city but often Chicago (to explain why Superman and Batman didn't run into each other every hour).

Do note that the THIRD PRIZE text in BOTH versions says:
If you're one of 100 third-prize winners, we'll send you a year's subscription to your favorite DC or Marvel comic book. The Incredible Hulk, Red Sonia, Thor, Green Lantern, Plastic Man, Captain America, Wonder Woman, Justice Society, Ms. Marvel, you name it. Even Little Lulu.

I'll note that I saw that before checking obvs' link.

According to the creator, he picked the name from a phonebook. (a New York phone book)

Hum. I always thought Metropolis was New York City, and Gotham was Chicago.
