I love how they tossed an actual television tuner (and perhaps an FM tuner?) as well for good measure.

Yup.

I feel like we've had "post an interesting article" threads before, but they always die out before I find something I want to share.

Wow, that's real?

I remember an old Avengers episode (post Emma Peel) where clowns were bumping off people so Steed went to such an egg registry with John Cleese as the curator. I thought it was just another eccentric (eggcentric?) side character the show usually had.

Huawei gets caught using DSLR pictures as examples of shots taken by its Nova 3 smartphone:

There is a YouTube video (in Arabic) at the link showing a commercial for the Nova 3 which clearly the above picture is taken from (the account is for that actress in the commercial).

Do note that there is nothing in the male actor's hand.

I had so many of those:
Purple iMac
Toast 5 Titanium
AppleWorks 6.2
Epson Stylus 780

I had an iBook, but I don't remember if it was a G3 or a G4.

Oh, and AppleWorks was better than Microsoft Office. Well, no, CLARISWORKS was. When they renamed it they started to make all kinds of changes and the changes weren't generally good.

But ClarisWorks 4, that was a damned good program.

I love that show, unfortunately have only seen maybe 3-4 episodes.

Edit: j_tso beat me to it.

Of course not. Had he been holding a phone, it would have shown up in the picture... :squint:

Not necessarily. The DSLR camera is offset just enough that the position of the man's arm within that camera's frame implied that he was taking a selfie.

But that lack of a Nova 3 in his hand makes clear that at least this portion of the commercial did not use that smartphone at all.

Is anybody really surprised though? I mean, I don't expect a professionally done commercial to be shot with a smartphone, arm position or not. I expect to be told a narrative/story, and that's it.
