"It's So Hot in Japan, the Fake Food in Restaurant Windows Is Melting":

Image

To be sure: while it was 40º C (104º F) on the streets of Nagoya, it was estimated that inside this display window--which is exposed to the street and the Sun--it was as hot as 60º C (140º F).

At the end of the linked article there is later tweeted pic of this same window where apparently the owners of this restaurant turned these "food samples" around about 180º in an attempt to get them to go back in, though I suspect that eventually they will get replacements.

Blaming the dog for your farts is still OK right?

I think it is more they still felt consumers were worth attempting to cajole with something resembling reason. Now they know that consumers are brain-dead consumerist morons and don't bother appealing to anything beyond emotion.

Yet, it is actually more nutritious than raw tomatoes. Cooking down the tomatoes makes the lycopene and minerals more bioavailable.

There are much better ways to cook down tomatoes, that don't involve converting the tomatoes into a tomato smoothie.

Agreed. I was just mentioning it because it's one of those ironic times when additional preparation makes a food healthier.

My preferred method is to just cook them down into a stew with a few other ingredients. Same effect without the sugar.
