Foot controls weren't uncommon for terminals of that period. However, ridiculous console aside, that article got a lot closer than most. The Internet as we know it really got its start in the early to mid 90's. Even if the underlying Internet had been around since the 70's, ordinary folks (if they had access at all) were limited things like ARCHIE, FTP, TELNET, etc.

I'm gonna guess WW2 bunker wall hit by a tank
I would say a 14 or 16 inch shell.
i think there's a piece of the bismarck's armor sitting on a german dock somewhere
easy to see why those battleships were so heavy (and expensive)

Not even duct tape will fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

Looking at the bare dirt around that house, I doubt that homeowner is too worried about the pool.
If you're fighting a fire and need the contents of my pool, the question isn't "what am I worried about?" the question is "how fast can I say yes?"
But then again I'm not evil. Nor do I have a pool.

i suspect my thoughts would me somewhere along the lines of "please please please don't crash"

[snip of second pic of Mont Saint-Michel]
While that is a nice pic of Mont Saint-Michel, it is too bad that the clouds being reflected in the stream do not match those in the sky at all.
Considering that there is no such curvy river bed leading towards Mont Saint-Michel (<=link to Google Maps), I must suspect that at least the bottom portion had been 'Shopped with the island's reflection added to a pic of ANOTHER stream.
"It's So Hot in Japan, the Fake Food in Restaurant Windows Is Melting":

To be sure: while it was 40º C (104º F) on the streets of Nagoya, it was estimated that inside this display window--which is exposed to the street and the Sun--it was as hot as 60º C (140º F).
At the end of the linked article there is later tweeted pic of this same window where apparently the owners of this restaurant turned these "food samples" around about 180º in an attempt to get them to go back in, though I suspect that eventually they will get replacements.
