huh? umh... no?

It should move, but for some reason, it doesn't work as a gif, only as gifv. I've noticed this recently. It's an imgur thing, not the forum's fault.

it's a jet ski with lights

I was referring to the Elton John picture. It's aboard a Boeing 720 that was called the Starship. It was totally outfitted interior, and used by Led Zeppelin on a number of tours--as well as other bands including Deep Purple, Allman Bros and the Rolling Stones.

Each band would change the livery for their tour.

oh, ok

I've seen pics of Led Zeppelin in a plane. They shared the plane with other people? so much for being a rockstar.

Iron Maiden owns their plane, and the singer can fly it. THAT is how you do it.

Iron Maiden's plane (Ed Force One), is not owned by Iron Maiden--it is leased from Air Atlanta. (Starship was also leased)

No sense in not "sharing" it for a fee when you aren't using it.

Leasing makes more sense as well in that you can claim the cost as a business expense on taxes. When you're pulling in the kind of cash that they were and spending so much of it on the proverbial hookers and blow in support of a rock and roll lifestyle, it's nice to have a legit expense that you can write off.

Peter Grant was an extremely dedicated manager for Zeppelin.

I don't know that I agree with the assessment of Zeppelin being an "insanely obscure topic." They are the second-biggest album selling group in the world behind the Beatles.

I wish there was a time machine so we can take Iron Maiden from the 70's and show them a setup of concert now.

I saw the Powerslave tour '85 and was definitely impressed with their stage design and lights. Great detail all around all in a Egyptian inspired theme.

The venue got totally trashed by the audience though.

Police in Norfolk, UK, stop driver in "most un-roadworthy car I’ve ever seen":

Yup, the back left tire is flat, and that is a wrench for the steering wheel and a somewhat collapsed metal bucket for the seat.

I've seen worse.

Minnesota doesn't have inspections; presumably because most cars rust out before they can become mechanical hazards like that.

Most.

I don't think those small cars have power steering

Basically all cars have power steering.

If my daughter sees this picture she will demand a road trip to Indiana.

Chances are the same lineup was on the Love Boat the previous week.

I remember the very first episodes of Fantasy Island were mysterious and creepy then it just became dreck.

I've seen worse as well... South Carolina also does not have inspections. We also have little to no rust issues, at least up here in the mountain-ey bits.
I have seen, on several occasions,an individual driving a red Ford ranger pickup with:
    No doors
    No windshield
    No rear glass
    No hood
    No fenders
    No bumpers
    No bed
    No front grill
Harbor Freight or similar tractor headlights, taillights & turn signals, all of which appear to be held on with bailing wire

[snip]

Actually there is: it is a support beam for the building.

Normally such are hidden from view by being inside of walls USUALLY between units. The condo designers declined to design these units to hide this.

BTW: that condo WAS recently sold.

of course it's a support beam

no explanation WHY they built the kitchen so awkwardly around the beam and why someone with a million bucks in their pockets would put up with it.
