My boss asked me if I was interested in the management track.
I told her that after some 12 years as an infantry officer, building two documentation departments from scratch, and enduring the corporate confusion between management and leadership, I told her no.
I have more management and leadership training and experience than my boss or either of the two people she promoted to managers in our department.
I don’t want to push paper for HR. I’d rather exercise my creative side.
