i never understood why people loved the atari 2600, even back then

The alternative was board games? Seriously, the delta between an Apple II and an Atari 2600 weren't that great.

I will cop to loving Conan on the Apple II. Before we got our own, I used to play that on the school's library computers all the time. I never saw a game that advanced on the Atari.

Installed? Pshaw! Back in them thar days, you had to put the right disc in the drive and then hope some jerk hadn’t copied over the program by putting some tape over the notch!
