"Married Couple Discover Themselves in Photo Shot 11 Years Before They Met":

What's more was that at the time the young woman was only visiting Qingdao, China, to see her ailing mother when she was living in Chengdu, over 1100 miles away.

It's like at the end of Cloverfield when you finally notice the alien egg falling out of the sky.

I'm sure they had lots of (failed) 3 pointer and free throw attempts, but I hope nobody tried a slam dunk.

Don't worry though. The Centaur that is just out of the shot will protect you.

Is that Epping Forest? Looks like the trees were coppiced a long time ago.

I know it is a common practice in parts of Europe to clear out all the underbrush and fallen branches. Makes for a nice look, but not all that great for the wildlife.

Still, the forests around these parts could use some of that. The somewhat young age of them (the area was almost clear-cut prior to 1900 or so), several blights and pests (Dutch Elm disease, Emerald Ash Borer and Chestnut blight) plus the storms in recent years (and weeks) has them looking absolutely awful. So many areas littered with fallen trees and limbs.
And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him.

Yeah, that was my reaction to reading this article: that this hotel WILL be magnificent for a SHORT while but there will be a headline around 2024: "Lake Fills Former Quarry with Abandoned Hotel".

We decided we wanted to give the cats something to look at. No fish or decorations yet, just filled it today and getting the nitrogen cycle started.

It's weird as someone who didn't see the original Star Trek during its run to see that. TNG was *so much better* than TOS, even though recently having watched the first few episodes of TNG, I know that it also had its cheesy and now-outdated elements.

Let's put up a vegas size hotel in the middle of the nowhere land, I'm sure it'll be consistently booked up. Seriously who was dumb enough to finance this thing and if it was financed by the former mine owners than why would anyone stay their (ignoring the fact it's in the middle of nowhere).
Its easy to know what you are against, quite an honour to know what you are for.

But compare TOS to the other stuff on TV in 1967 and it's basically high art.

At least until MASH showed up.

Except for Troi's "skirt" and "soldier" ones.

I remember thinking that the Enterprise D looked really weird for a long time. Then it grew on me, and now I can't imagine it any other way.
