This picture has resurrected a memory I have where my class watched a short film that was about a future where it was always cloudy and rainy and kids played kick the can in the rain and had to wear what the kids in the pic are wearing and get UV light so they would be healthy. Then this one day the sun shines and everything bursts into life and light and color and the kids are all amazed before the sun gets covered up again at the end and everything goes back to normal. Does anyone have any clue what this movie was?

This was in a National Geographic magazine many, many, many, moons ago. These kids lived in Siberia and the UV treatment was given to them during the winter so they wouldn't get scurvy or other nastiness.
I dug out my copy of the book and found the picture of kids around a UV lamp in a school in Murmansk. Different picture, same thing. The book is copyright 1977, which fits my general recollection of when I saw the picture, ca. 3rd or 4th grade and probably the same era as our picture here appeared in the magazine.

You could put a warning label on just about anything: TV's, churches, pets, cell phones-- you name it.
