Yeah, but scratches due to moving furniture (especially chairs), things just falling on that floor....

Yeah, but scratches due to moving furniture (especially chairs), things just falling on that floor....

...add character. Good wood floors can just get screened and recoated unless they are REALLY bad, and even then, if you get the right professional to refinish, you can sand it down maybe 5 times.

my bucks say that floor is a lot thicker than you think.
like 1 1/4 to 1 1/2
it's good for a while.

and it's the White House... people that know what they are doing move the furniture. (usually)

Honestly, replacing a 27-year-old HVAC system will probably save them money. (We're talking about a midsize office building, realistically. Not cheap to heat/cool.)

Hell, it probably even uses that older refrigerant you can't get anymore (at least not without paying an arm and a leg.)

I thought that was the same, or very similar to, what you americans call "fruit cake". And to me panettone is a xmas/holidays/december thing.

I remember getting a warez copy of Civ II for PC on one floppy. Sadly, a lot of the "multimedia" features didn't work.
