A striped mouse. I know of no other mouse species with stripes. All those with which I'm familiar are solid color with perhaps light shading.

But they're racing stripes. Must be Speedy Gonzales's african cousin.

I hope the driver doesn't speed up. The wind resistance would push the passenger holding the sign right off the back.

Worst similar idiotic thing I've ever seen was two years back coming home from Phoenix after an elk hunt. A quad runner was perched atop the cab of a 1/2 ton pickup truck with one strap across the seat to hold it down. The four big soft tires were on each sloping corner of the cab and held it in place. He was going down the road at 60 MPH when I came up behind him. After I noticed that quad runner, I got in the left lane, out from behind him, and sped up so I was no where nearby. I never saw any news article about him crashing over the next few days, so perhaps he made it safely wherever he was going. I was left wondering how badly the roof of his cab was dented when he got it off there.

Photo-essay: life in Yakutsk, the coldest city on Earth:

I should note that there is NOT a link to just these pictures of Yakutsk, so in the future you may have to scroll down a bit before getting to these specific pictures.

I used to have a fractal generator app for the classic Mac OS. It took forever to fill the screen, but I loved it.

I ported a pascal program for the BBC Micro to Sinclair BASIC to run on one of these. I had to leave it running overnight to complete a 256*192 16 colour Mandelbrot.

Was that a specific episode or did they randomly find opportunities to do that?

Also, I love how they make allusions to almost every book in the canon of HS lit. High-brow enough to be fun, yet low-brow enough to not be snooty. My favorite is the one where they all start calling Lana Calpurnia.
