Not in the US, maybe, but Hendrix was in the UK. I wasn't alive in the 60's, and I couldn't drink until the 80's, but, Europe had way better beer than what you found in the US. I hated beer until I visited Europe.

Not in the USA, it wasn't (at least to anyone unfamiliar with german, belgian, Czech or UK beer)
Then again, calling bud pisswater isn't anything close to snobbery.

I suspect that pic is from an American venue.
I have tasted a lot og German brews I liked but every brew I have been given as an example of what they drink in the UK tasted like absolute ass to me. I would rather drink my own human waste than a warm pint of black Guinness.
