I figured it was because those peat bogs were anaerobic or something - they preserve stuff forever.
If I remember correctly from the first time I saw that picture, it was because the ravens and other scavengers could only get at the unfrozen parts.

And about an inch of snow or less. It's all in the timing, though. Much like the big traffic jam in Charlotte a couple of years ago, the snow hit right at rush hour when the removal crews couldn't get to it.
Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

The ISS transits Saturn:

This Astronomy Picture of the Day notes that the predicted track on the ground was only 40 meters wide, and the videographer was lucky that his 42-frames/sec happened to get one with the ISS directly over the disc of Saturn.

I once tried to get out of DC on a Friday Rush Hour.
I've experienced NYC rush hours many, many times, Boston as well.
They got NOTHING on DC.
And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him.

Walking back to my shop from getting a pop at the gas station and I noted a small car that was unfamiliar to me so I walked over to have a closer look. A Holden.
Wonder how the fiddlesticks that made it to Oklahoma.

Not even duct tape will fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

Nah. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holden_Barina
The Barina is a rebadged version of the Chevy Aveo. Somebody with an Aveo probably just bought the lettering and badge on ebay and wanted to be clever.
You see how that badge is hanging over the edge? It's the wrong size. No car manufacturer would do that. (Not the same model year but you get the idea.)

That bumper damage may have been a "well, as long as I'm at it" kind of opportunity. I've been known to get fancy when I have "necessary repairs" as an excuse.

Recall how King Tut's mask was badly repaired with a glob of epoxy? Huh: about a year and 123 pages ago.
