I hate big earrings because they pull earlobes down like that.
And I noticed that because I had to scroll down before I saw the rest of the image.

Funny to learn only recently that a good number of those tracks were recorded 10 minutes from where I grew up, the arena (once home to the NY Nets and NY Islanders) later became a roller rink, then a run-down flea market.
And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him.
Stuff left by WWII Japan on Kiska Island in the Aleutians:
.
Read the accompanying story which details some interesting aspects about the American counterattack to retake the island.
BTW for WWII souvenier hunters: access to the island is restricted by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the island being part of the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. The only access is through a boat run by the service from Adak Island which is about 180 miles away. If you clicked on that link, it goes to Google Maps which has Kiska being the largish island on the left and Adak Island with its town labelled on the right.

Surveyor 3 was launched on 17 APR 1967. The spacecraft landed on the Moon several days later and accomplished all planned objectives.
In 1969, the crew of Apollo 12 landed near the Surveyor 3 lander. Several parts of the lander were recovered and returned to Earth for study.

These japanese guys got 5000 lottery tickets, to "increase the chances of winning", only recovered less than half of the original "investment".

Virtually all lotteries are a tax on stupidity. Yes, for that one lucky moron who wins, it's pretty cool. Unfortunately, the odds of said lucky moron still being rich a year later are pretty low.

Unless you're literally destitute, $2 every once in a while is not much of a "stupid tax."

Neither is the few cents per gallon on gas. It's still a tax. Also, if you look at the statistics, most of the winners don't know how to manage the money and end up broke again within a year or so.

No it isn't.
I've also wasted a hell of a lot more money on wasteful meals and bad movies, a lottery ticket when it gets to hundreds of million is cheap entertainment.
If a boat is a hole in the water you throw money in, do you really want your ship to come in?

Guys, it's one thing to love a classic Christmas movie. It's a whole other to inflict it on children...
