The problem with the uncanny valley is ALWAYS in animation and mostly with eyes. They never get the eyes right.

Well, yeah. But the number and diversity of models is what gets me.
Then again, they were basically an engine strapped to an airframe. Not nearly as complex.
This thing is still there. You could just go and take it for a ride.
