It makes the rounds every year or so slightly rewritten. I'd eat my hat if John Cleese wrote it.

I think it's a timer, which is similar but different.

You may have, but the quote is wrong!

The tri-colored blackbirds were my favorite in my youth. Now they're effectively endangered, sigh.

That's sad.

I remember when I was a kid, my parents were in the front seat, and my mom (definitely a city kid) saw a red winged blackbird, which she wasn't familiar with. She asked my dad, "hey, what's that bird? It looks like a blackbird with red wings."

My dad replied, "It's a red-winged blackbird."

She didn't believe him until we got home and he dug out the Audobon book.

I am almost certain, based on stored layout, the products in the case, etc, that this was taken in Taiwan. Here they do outreach programs where a very young class comes in and they learn to scan items and make change and whatnot. It's pretty cute. They all get their picture taken in a 7-11 shirt, and you often seen colored thank-you pictures posted in the store after.

I think I see my favorite local milk brand, "High Quality Milk," at the front of that refrigerator case.

Mauna Loa is waking up. The upper reservoir appears to be filling. Can you imagine both Kilauea and Mauna Loa erupting at once?

That picture is the red-winged blackbird, the most abundant bird in North America.

This is the tricolored blackbird:
