I've fished up a lot of catfish, but never had to fight a snake for it.

It has got windows, but they are covered over. Look closely.
It's possible the glass is not installed yet, or is covered to protect it during launching / fitting out.

I noticed that "strip" on the front, but the sides look like flat steel (which I guess wouldn't be very stealthy, but it just doesn't look normal, at least to me).

Looks like one of the new American littoral combat ships. (A brilliant case study in the MIC, btw. Two companies competing for the bid with different designs, and the the final decision was "fiddlesticks it, lets build both ships! Money for everyone!")

They are designed with stealth in mind. I can't speak to the material they're built with, but even the small angle that the ship's superstructure is built at could radically decrease radar returns. A radar wave's angle of reflection is equal to it's angle of incidence.

Like the fairly old-fashined anchor on the bow.

All that just to ferry 8 people? What's it for?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M80_Stiletto

The 88-foot (27 m) long vessel has a notable hull design, an M-shaped hull that provides a stable yet fast platform for mounting electronic surveillance equipment or weapons, or for conducting special operations. The hull design does not require foils or lifting devices to achieve a smooth ride at high speeds in rough conditions. Its shallow draft means the M80 Stiletto can operate in littoral and riverine environments and potentially allows for beach landings. The faceted design suggests that the vessel has a low radar signature (i.e., stealth) in the frontal aspect and somewhat so from the sides.

...

The Stiletto is being tested by the United States Navy SEALs and Special Warfare Combat Crewmen, who operate small, fast craft in the rough littoral seas for which the vessel was designed.

Possibly, but I imagine EW is closer to the boring truth. That thing looks tailor made for putting antennas close to targets.

Looks like a modified Bruce, a fairly modern anchor actually, designed in the 70s.

Right before I bought my house I almost put an offer in on a floating home. It was gorgeous but since it was a floating home the only mortgage options were a little difficult. That lifestyle appeals to me. Jimmy Buffet on repeat.
