Not Grover. Oscar.
He's a grouch, lives in a garbage can--a trip to Uranus would be a dream come true for him.
And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him.

Mother "shocked" by detail on teddy bear decorations on toddler's christening cake:

Image
.

It is a sewing seam that could be found on any teddy bear (though perhaps not quite as obvious had it been more hairy, not a feature one would want for a cake decoration). The cake maker had provided the mother with decorative flowers to be placed over the crotches of the two teddy bears, but people at the christening party kept moving them and joking about the detail.

Across the street from me is a new Thai restaurant. The owner brings her daughter to work most days, and the kid has this cool "Mercedes SUV" Power Wheels that she parks on the sidewalk just outside the restaurant. There's a cop that comes by probably twice a week and gives the girl a "parking ticket" for it. It's very cute. :)

Is artificial flavor against the rules?

Yes, I do understand that was inappropriate, but still, it's not real bacon.

i know lots of orthodox jews who eat bacon-flavored potato chips

they tend to consider it a grey area, observing the letter of the law if not the spirit

Right, but Muslims probably don't have a very good concept of what "bacon flavor" means.

When I was growing up, I knew a Muslim family from Iraq. The mother wore hijab(a head scarf, covering her hair for purposes of modesty), but no, the family didn't eat pork. I knew one other Muslim, from Pakistan, who was somewhat more liberal, but still didn't eat pork.

Then I moved out to the east coast of the U.S.. A few miles from here there is a grocery store I've been to several times where one of the cashiers wears full niqab in the middle of summer, and she's not the only one I've seen. I've seen countless women wearing them in this area. It's pretty shocking the first few times it happens, but eventually you get it. The fact that they're here does not mean that they're liberal or relaxed in their beliefs. I have even seen two families with the women wearing burkas. Here.

It's just not a good idea to advertise your pork-flavored foods as part of a Ramadan special.

Just because a woman is wearing a niqab or burka doesn't mean that they aren't liberal. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

By no means do I think that no Muslims are liberal. But that's the opposite of what the question should be.

Are a huge number of Muslims likely to take offense to a Ramadan sale for pork-flavored Pringles? I believe so. It's kind of like giving a church discount for gay pornography.
