It IS a very pretty design, but isn't this rocking chair such that one is required to sit up VERY straight in order to not slide out? The gradually sloping front part of the seat doesn't help.

I believe the seat is made of flexible strings, so... that would help?

But I posted it because IMHO, it's beautiful. And because only a wizard could have bent wood that way.

[snip]

The strings being flexible would do both, really. The body's weight in the back on those strings would lower the center of gravity generally, but those flexible strings would also cause the front end to bend down more easily as well so increasing sliding out of the front. I just think that falling asleep in this chair one would have a good chance of being thumped on the rump (and maybe being banged in the head as well) when such a relaxed occupant slides out.

There is actually tape which is rated for temporary aircraft repairs. It just looks like duct tape.

Don't confuse the two... :paranoid:

There ARE very rare--because most were destroyed--first editions of Huckleberry Finn which have the drawing on the left.

It's also just a poorly done render.
The visuals don't hold up.

When I was a kid, the space and rocket center had "real" capsules on display (trainers with all the switches, dials, lights, etc.) I had the pleasure of sitting in one in its launch configuration (laying on my back) and messing with said switches and dials.

Unfortunately, those have been sealed away behind glass now, so my daughter will only get to see a cheap mockup that simulates how tight the fit was.
