Any cat could easily jump on that one.

Unless you have an old, lazy, fat cat.

It's Texas. Would anything really change?

Anyone who has been to Austin and looked in the legislature knows that the zombie apocalypse started there.

Dogs and their unconditional love are what make me believe there is a god.

My horrible pet allergies are what make me believe that that god hates me.

Sadly, it's the oils from their skin that I'm allergic to. Hairless animals can be better for me than, say, a golden retriever, but I still can't cuddle with them. I might do allergy shots one of these days. I've heard very mixed things about how well they work though.

My wife was supposedly cured of her cat and dog allergies after several years of allergy shots. We have not yet tested the Doctor's assertion (based on updated scratch tests). With other things, like grass, she still shows allergic reactions. Even so, the shots have made things much better. Only a few times of the year does she now need antihistamines.

I have you tried anything new agey like eating bee pollen. My son swears it helps but he's into all that new agey crap.

That actually has been known to work. (Eat the honey, and the pollen in it desensitizes you to the pollen in the surrounding area.) The trick is to get locally produced honey so it's got the same kinds of plant bits, and isn't pasteurized or cut with corn syrup.

A very rare rainbow:

spotted over part of the European Southern Observatory in the high desert of Atacama, Chile, one of the driest places on the Earth.

EDIT: "Southern" not "Space".

Gouges on Mars in theory made by chunks of sand-surfing dry ice:

Image

In theory because while scientists have replicated the phenomenon on Earth they haven't seen evidence that the same thing is happening on Mars. This just may be a matter of time before they get a picture of a chunk of dry ice found at the end of one of the gouges.

Those ladders don't look too bad though I would make some minor improvements. I could use those . . . .
Also I trust those guys working at the top have a safety harness and are clipped to the ladder.

It's the 30s - a worker falls off the ladder, there'll be more out-of-work joes to replace him.
