And your tape's broken loose.

It is Karen ("Nebula") Gillian from "Guardians of the Galaxy".

The tape is a reference to Peter Quill (played by Chris Pratt) who takes the tape (in a Walkman) from Earth.

So...this is a before-and-after shot--the kayaker being incidental--of a waterfall where the undercut of the falls eventually was breached so the river got a "new" falls partially obscured by the arch in front of it?

Yup. There is some debate on whether it is still float-able by kayak.

Aw, he's no fun, he fell right over.

Science is Truth for Life. In FORTRAN tongue the Answer.

...so I'm supposed to find the Shadow King from inside a daiquiri?

Yup. There is some debate on whether it is still float-able by kayak.

My guess is that it would take a year or two for the debris from the collapse to be cleared out by the new falls, plus several more years for the pool below the falls to form because I would imagine that the undercut was rather shallow (unless there is some characteristic to the rock underneath which makes it particularly amenable to being cut by water action).

As an aside, this looks like a research reactor. Had this been taken at a commercial reactor, the "photographer" would now have an auxiliary uncouth individual.

Amazingly, this did (sorta) buff right out. (They replaced the forward section with one from a sister ship)

I haven't even had the old new flavor.

Amazingly, that happened underwater and the ship didn't sink.
