The origin of the Apple command symbol?

Image

Really, it's possible. Where Apple directly got the command symbol is from an international symbol dictionary. It is used in Sweden as the symbol for points of interest, e.g.:

While there are various stories on how that became Sweden's symbol for points of interest, some contend that it is a stylized outline of the walls of the above castle ruin.

The story of the journey of that obelisk is pretty interesting--due to its size it took a a year or so just to get from the dock to the park.
And Proteus brought the upright beast into the garden and chained him to a tree and the children did make sport of him.

Not any more than the thousands of other places where artifacts from around the world have been moved. Britain and France plundered the hell out of the middle east and hauled tons (literally) of things out of there. Some of it has made it back, but by no means most of it. The same is true of artifacts from other cultures as well.

If an archeologist's mind is blown by that, then they are probably too stupid to be in that line of work... ;)
