Wow, what's the deal with Bergen / Hudson / Essex county NJ?

Been in that area--didn't find it all that churchy.

Funny how that state line of Maine / NH is so clearly defined.

I only want to visit blue areas.
I find it amusing that San Bernardino county in California is that red next to all the blue. That's the red area in the lower right of the state.

It also seems to correlate pretty well with Democrat vs Republican states.
So, drunken beer snobs or bible-thumping proselytisers.... Hmm, the beer guys will at least think they're fun.

Hmm
Does tweeting about Scotch count as a "church" tweet?

Don't forget it's counting tweets. Maybe there's two guys in those counties tweeting and they only talk about Jesus.

Oh darn, no, Nevada. We have a couple of neutral zones still. Might have to consider moving to MA.

Look closer. There's a deep red zone around Carson City.

Notice how outside the South, major cities which are typically Democrat are often also red?

Yes, I did say 'pretty well' and not 'perfectly matching'.

I saw that Buffalo and surrounding area was red.

I've spent a few weeks in Buffalo, I heard much more talk of beer than church.

Maybe they are tweeting about going to confession after tying one on the night before?

/me notes Heidi_Sue's county is red. She must have moved.

Shasta County (the red county in Northern California) is red because we have one major city and that major city has a Christian University and a christian college.

Beer is forbidden at both.

Also note that large counties are common in the west but not in the east which can make those kind county level maps mis-leading.

Many of the red in the south might be blue (or vice versa) if part of larger counties like California has.
I'm so glad politiards run this place.. so much.

Seeing that New Orleans is red confirms my theory that the "church" tweeting is related to "going to confession" after a big night out.

Plus I suppose the "beer" tweets aren't covering Sazerac or Hurricanes.

Or maybe they're going to Church's Chicken.
